Rabbi Shalom Zagelbaum

Rabbi Zagelbaum

Rabbi Sholom Zagelbaum joined our rabbinic staff in July, 2018 as Assistant Rabbi.  He previously completed extensive training in the Jerusalem Kollel and served as our 2017 High Holiday intern.  He currently leads our Kollel and teaches the evening Daf Yomi shiur and other shiurim.

Rabbi Shalom Zagelbaum was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. After attending Yeshiva Torah Vodaath and Mesivta High School of Boston, the rabbi studied in Yeshivas Mir in Yerushalayim under the tutelage of Rav Asher Arieli.  While in Israel, he received his semicha/rabbinic ordination from Rav Yitzchok Berkovits and tested with distinction in many areas of Jewish law.  He successfully completed the Ner Le’Elef Community Development Training Program, and the Va’ad Chizuk Educational Leadership Training Program. During the rabbi's five years in Israel, he was involved in teaching and education at many institutions, including Yeshivos Tiferes Yisroel, Shaarei Tevuna, and Nesivos Ahron. He was also the founder and teacher of the daily Navi Shiur at The Jerusalem Kollel.

Together with his wife Penina, they are full of gratitude to Hashem for giving them four beautiful children, Meir Simcha, Libby, Dassy,  and Menucha. Penina serves as a teacher at Shearim Torah High School for Girls.
